hinderer sharpening

hey
I'm curious to know at what angle of sharpening do you re-profile your hinderer xm18? especially Spanto
I just re-profiled mine at about 35 °, now it cuts very well but I'm not sure about the edge retention, any anticipation if someone has already tried with a similar angle?
the standard sharpening, I think at 20 °, with the thicknesses of the Spanto make it hard to cut, others like Slicer with this angle are fine.

I have thinned several HInderers (including a Spanto) down to 15 or 17 per side and it made them much better cutters.

I've had three XM18s and one Jurassic. Every one of them came from the factory at 22 to 23 degrees per side. I settled on 22.5 per side, measured with an angle cube on my Wicked Edge. Never had the spanto, though.

Edit: I use the kind of angle cube with a margin of error of +/-0.05 degrees.

I've sharpened all my Hinderers and customers at 20°/side then stropped at 18°. Never had any customer complaints and like the cut my XMs give at these angles.
