As far as the 3 versions go, is it only the blade that varies in thickness or does the handle as well.

Specifically I'm looking at 3.5 in xm18s in skinny (I believe there was only one version made) vs regular.
I looked at the all titanium harpoon spanto skinny 3.5 in xm 18 and various vendors had differing stats on weights, and handle thickness

So then I tried to find the differences in fattys vs regular and again some websites had different blade thicknesses with the same handle thickness and on others both the blade and handle thickness were different.

I have no insight into these knives; they are off my radar but this sounds like a whole discussion needs to be made to help you so I'm at least bunmping this to the top.

If it were me I'd buy the ones with thin blades and fuller handles . . . when you find out just what the heck the vendors are ACTUALLY selling.
Good luck.

Fatty has .185 thickness scales and blade.
Standard has .165 thickness scales and blade.
Skinny has .140 thickness scales and blade.

To go with what Brandoak said, the handle would be 20 thousanths thicker on the fatty and 25 thinner on the skinny to go with the difference in blade thickness. I doubt that would be noticeable in hand.
