Hello
I am recently looking into slipjoints and the first I got was a TRM Atlas which is great

But the blade is very short and I realise I am leaning toward the 3 inch blade for this kind of knives

Problem is I got the Hinderer itch recently ;)

I was initially planing to get a Kizer slipit vanguard with g10 VG10 but the himderer slippy recently got my attention

Which one would you recommand ?

This probably isn’t helpful considering your question, but I would say: neither. Look at the Viator from TRM, or the Wasp from Manly. Both affordable “mid-tech” slippies with ~3” blades.

The manly wasp is also on my radar but it is not one hand opening and at the moment I am first looking at one hand opening slipjoint

Because the difference I value between the kizer, the hinderer and let’s say the spyderco UKPK I am not sure if the hinderer is worth the extra $$$

I don’t think it is (the Hinderer), personally, but that’s just my opinion. And the Viator has far too strong of a pull for one-hand opening.

The Isham Blackstar comes to mind if you can find one

. I don’t have one but I wish I did

Well, I have the Atlas, the Viator, the Kizer ZipSlip, the Manly Wasp, the Hinderer XM Slippy Slicer and a XM Slippy Sheepsfoot. The Viator is the "slicest" of the bunch, (but like the Wasp, is not single-hand opening) and is extremely thin in overall width which for my long fingers can be "troublesome" without a liner lock like the Neutron.

For the ones that truly are single-hand opening, the Hinderer's have thicker blade stock thus are less slicey but much more "rugged" for hard use, breaking down cardboard boxes with abandon. Kind-of depends on the edge that is put on them, both of mine have the factory edge, I have handled some that are thinner behind the edge and are great slicers. The Kizer ZipSlip is actually the best of all worlds in this slip joint comparison. Easy one-handed opening and have great fit and finish. Only mild negative is that the Ti scales/handle could get slippery in wet conditions. The Spyderco UKPK and Urban are also great knives/steel combinations....

I think Kizer is coming out with a G10 ZipSlip. would help with the slippery handles. I don't have any of these but am also interested.
