I have a good recipe for the Hinderer 3.5 spear point (which I think is more or less the same as the swedged spear).
1. Set blade flat on top holes in blade clamp
2. Set blade with 37mm between clamp and tip of blade
3. Set WE to 24 DPS.
I should tell you that I don't actually take the time to measure the DPS. I simply set all my blades on the top clamp holes and set the angle below. Obviously, this will lead to the DPS being different for each knife due to the height of the blade....but I want to keep things simple.
The knife in the picture is off to get repaired due to a broken lock, so I can't show you a picture of the secondary bevel. But, it's very small and looks pretty much exactly the same as the factory edge in the picture. Very even all the way through.
Edit: I found a couple of pictures after sharpening. They aren't great pictures, but they will give you an idea of what type of secondary bevel I wound up with.
Thanks for the the information I will definitely consider those numbers. However mine doesn't have the flat portion on the blade to secure in the clamp. I'd post a picture but I don't have the knife with me.

I just looked at their site and saw a shim kit. I use a field and sport 2016. Clearly not the best or the most features but it serves my needs for the 200 cost of entry years ago.
