Hi All, Just a question about the takedown tool. I grabbed a takedown tool while at The Blade Show, but unfortunately I have a tool that has the allen bit that's just a bit to big for the spacer screws. The bit says it's a 5/64". Are the spacer screw different in sizes between the 3", 3.5", and 4"???

I have the 3" ...anybody know what the proper size of allen bit it takes? Thanks in advance, Take Good Care, and Be Safe Always.

Sounds like a defective knife. I'll swap it out for a knife that has 5/64" spacers for you if you don't want to mess with it! Honestly- I don't have an answer for you, but I would guess one of the experts will have an answer for you shortly.

This is what I found in another thread on another forum:

"The 3.5" XM-18s use a 5/64 hex for the frame screws. The 3" XMs use a 1/16 hex."
So I would suggest to get an extra 1/16 bit for your 3"XM-18
