Hinderer xm 18 3" size and comfort?

Hello, I love the hinderer design and had an xm-18 3.5" but it was just too heavy. (pulled downed my shorts) So I was thinking I should the 3" version. I have medium sized hands, so will the grip still be great like the bigger brother? Is the knife much lighter? I loved my sage 2, so i was wondering if anybody could give me a comparison photo of those two knives. Thanks guys and gals
