Hinderer XM-18 No Choil Slicer Question

Thinking about picking up a Hinderer XM-18 No Choil Slicer (no finger choil). Just curious if the small sharpening choil is well done on Hinderer XM knives. Really tired of buying other brand knives with poorly executed sharpening choils that don't extend past the plunge grind. I'm really anal about sharpening and maintaining an even edge bevel all the way to the heel of the blade.

It could use enlarging, in my opinion. If you sharpen at a lower inclusive angle than the stock edge, you run the risk of flaring out the edge at the heel.

Just for reference. Hard to tell from the pic.

Shouldn't the choil extend past the thumb stud or is the stud out of the way for sharpening?

Thanks for the info. I definitely like to reprofile to lower inclusive angles with my Wicked Edge sharpening system. I was hoping to avoid enlarging the choil, so I may end up going with the finger choil model. Hmmm... decisions... decisions!
