To those that own it how are you liking this knife? I really like the looks of this one but they don't seem to be available anywhere.

I loved mine and had to depart with it for bills. This is one of the best knives available and if you can find one your are lucky because this knife is the real deal and everybody wants one. If you want one, email Rick or try and find one for sale on the forums. You won't be disappointed.

:D

I LOVE mine!! It IS one of the toughest and best knives that I have ever owned. I have the 3 inch bladed version, with bright blue handles. It is the knife that is my avatar by the way. Rick isn't taking any orders right now. BUT, you can place and order with one of his authorized dealers. (The list of dealers is found on Rick's site.) http://www.rickhindererknives.com/

I got a XM-18 while I was over here in Iraq; 3.5" orange G-10. I tell you I was out for 8 hours one night reworking some of my equipment here, I think that knife was in my hand for 3 hours of it. By the time I got back it was covered in crap but after I cleaned it up and took a few swipes on my sharp maker is was just like I pulled it out of the box for the first time. It is a very SOLID knife, there is a lot of meat/heft to it, but I am confident it will take most abuse well.

If you can find one, get it, great knife. I got mine at a knife show. You should be able to get one at Blade if your quick.

Good news! I'll keep my eyes open...and do a little preliminary recon.

Don't have an XM18, and I should!

I got mine about a month ago and think it is a excellent all around knife. Mine is 3" with black g-10 and the Ti lock side is anodized blue with a satin finish blade. The blue anodizing is starting to wear but, that just adds character. The blade is very beefy but, thanks to the hollow grind is still a good slicer. The g-10 is very grippy and has a overall nice feel to it and the knife is just about perfectly balanced.

Yes, you SHOULD have an XM-18!! Mine has a 3 inch blade too. If I were you, and was attending Blade, I would bee line right to Rick's table, so you might have a prayer of a chance of getting an XM-18.
