I purchased a XM 3.5 Fatty a while back and never really like the feel of the flipping action. So I decided to convert it to the Tri-way pivot.

Took me a minute to realize yours wasn't setup for Tri-Way from the factory! Only way I realized was you didn't have a steel lockface insert. Great job!

How does it feel? Have you had you had a chance to compare it to other Tri-Ways? Did you end up adjusting the detent with the added weight of the "fatty" ?

It feels Great! I didn't need to make any other changes to the knife. I haven't handled any other tri-ways to compare I'm sure the feel is identical.

Thanks....I made a fixture to use in a CNC Lathe...the positions of the bores I made are within .0005 ... Would have been cheaper to buy a newer gen. but I had the time so why not...Glad I did !

Funny you say 0.0005, thats the same tolerances they talk about on an interview they did of their shop on youtube!
