Hinderer XM Blasted Blade Finish Thoughts.....???

I have owned a dozen XM's over the years. They were all Spanto and have had 3" & 3.5" XM18's and the 4" XM24 also. I will add that all the blades were stonewashed and most of the frames were as well, but did have some blasted frames.

After a LONG drought, I have an XM24 Spanto on the way. It has a stonewashed frame and a blasted blade. I really think this a goofy combo honestly, but I got it anyways. My thinking is, for the majority of the time, the blade is closed anyways, and we all know how the stonewashed leaves virtually zero marks, which is a plus. With the blasted blade, I think when opened, since its blasted it would be non reflective and more tactical....?? Which in the end, not of that really matters.

I would like to know how the blasted blades are for EDC though, do they scuff up....? Are they rough....? I much prefer the stonewashed blades, but thought I would give this a try. I do wish the whole thing was blasted, then it would be a non issues as I really like my blasted frame/stonewahsed blade XM-18 3.5" combo. Just not sure how this combo is reversed....??? I looked on Hinderer's site and they will not blast a stonewashed frame, so I am outta luck there.

I have seen tons of pics of the blasted blade stonewashed combo's over the years, now would like to see what you guys think that have had them...???

Thanks in Advance and am looking to hearing from you guys.

My Gen1 has a blasted blade and I love it. Love the flat finish and it holds up very well. I'm surprised because I expected it to scratch and scuff pretty quickly. Same with the blasted handle. But no, they are very tough! I EDC my XM every day and it looks great!! Cuts great too...

Tacticlol you say?

Not nearly enough.

I tried to tacticalise my XM -

I know, pretty badass.....thought I'd test this tactical tool tactically on some toxic tactic ZOMBIES!!!!!

Clearly the tacticlol additions aided my tactical tactics in tactically slaying them zombie fellers but not quite there, something was missing????

They'll never see me coming!

Is that a box of Steinlager Pure in the background? Be tactful....open it tactically....and share a bottle with the poor zombie! Cheers!

Yeah, not just a box, a full box of Steinlager Pure....I'm intrigued, as the Steinlager is not in any of the pics, how on earth did you know?

This is a little spooky?!?!

Nice Sharpi camo, J.

As for blasted blade finishes, it's the same(ish) with all the matte finishes (including working)...if you hit metals and such, it will likely leave a mark...happens on SW too, but not as easily detected.

These are tools intended for use, I don't care about a few "blemishes" from use.
