I am well aware that pimping a Hinderer voids the warranty. But this knife is a beast and I don't worry that it will ever require warranty work. This is my own personal XM. I love the working finish and the black DLC blades even more but they are rare and cost a premium. So I decided to darken the blade myself. It's 20CV. So I acid washed it in Radio shack etchant (full strength) for 10 minutes. Then stonewashed. Then I went ahead and did a dark blue Ano to the lockside.

I wanted the handle to be light colored to contrast with the blade but the Battleship gray was still to dark. So I spray painted it with light gray Rustoleum. Three layers.

This looked way to "perfect" for the blade though so I decided to sand off the ridges. This took quite some effort with scotch-brite pads so the paint really took well to the G10!!!

Now it's finished and is rotating as my daily user with my Munroe Sigil. No change in lockup or smoothness in deployment. Love it!!!
