Great Eastern has posted a picture on its website of a blade to a new pattern it is developing. Here is the link:

Reading the tang, the pattern is the new #57 pattern. The tang number is 570311. Using the tang number chart on Great Eastern's site, this means that the pattern in question will be the 57 pattern with a Wharncliffe main blade, three blades, and built in 2011. Obviously, one of the secondary blades appears to be a small clip blade.

I smell a whittler!

... hmm... dang... wharnie main blade... GEC... I think its must have for me... My poor wallet...

It would seem that way based on the number. I don't get why they would make another whittler pattern with a wharncliffe main blade though. There is already the Executive Whittler and Courthouse Whittler. I wonder if it's going to be similar to the #56 frame the way the #53/#54 and #61/#62 patterns are similar to each other. Dogleg Whittler?

Wayne, Thank you for the heads up. A dogleg whittler would be cool. I'm hoping for a three-bladed Norfolk.

Is that the child proof design with the blunted tips?? :D
