The Kagas Katne. HI s tiniest knife, isn't it? first time I've ordered right from the online store. this this doesn't disappoint! sharpest blade I've received, I'm able to shave with it. pity, however, that its just barely too long for concealed cary. bought it for work, and I think ill still be able to use it. however, I wish it was a bit shorter, or HI made smaller knives. Im down for a mini Everest katana, blade length of 3 inches. id use it for shaving! anyway, solid knife! wish I could get a pic up. basically looking at a little over 3.75 inches for the paper cutter's edge. I see a sword or giant kuhk from the web site in my future!

There are a few smaller models. I had a fella send me some Rusty SD's to work on the handles and the blades on them are right in that range as well, kind of like the mini Spear Vala but not sharp on both sides. They are very nice and I plan to get one for myself first chance I get.
All of these can vary a bit. The thing to do is contact Yangdu and tell her your looking for the shortest one she has.
There are a few others in that blade range as well. Might find one under the 3 1/2'' mark.
I think that's what our law in Washington is except for places like Seattle where they make their own laws.
I carry my micro bowie which is also in that length range but strong enough to pry a car door open every day. It's pushing the legal limit but so far I'm not behind bars.

For visuals, a couple Rusty SD knives that were sold at Deal of the Day prices a couple months ago.
(By the way, "Rusty" was a forum member, and "SD" is short for Skean Dhu, or Sgian-dubh.)

I don't know where I was but I completely missed those apparently. These are delightful little knives. Don't recall ever hearing of them before.
I have 5 on my bench but they belong to another HI fan.
I love the file work on the back, they are legal here being only sharp on one side and very close to legal length just about everywhere except maybe California, I don't think anything is legal there that isn't natural.
And antler? How did I miss that one..........

Thanks Steve for the info. I knew Rusty as a much respected member but didn't know the SD, thought it might be self defense but I like your info better being a lover and not a knife fighter myself.

the Katne that I have is right on 7.5inch mark. I don't suppose you'd be able to find me a 3 - 3.5 inch blade Bawanna?

I can't but I'm sure Yangdu can. I'll send her a message right now and get back to you. I'm not sure if she's around this weekend or not, might be next week before I get a response.
Oh today is Friday, took the day off, mental health day, she might get right back to me.
I'll be back.

I am wondering what the purpose is of a khukuri with a 3.5 inch blade? At that length it really loses the properties that a khukuri is designed for, to the extent that one may as well just use a different sort of knife. In any case, I'm sure HI would be able to make you something to your specifications, khukuri or not.

What country are you in that bans concealing knives over 3.5 inches? Seems that would rule out most pocket knives.

You might be surprised at what one of them little Kags will do. I used to carry one in my pocket at all times. I still miss it sometimes. The only reason I dont is because I carry a bigger one now! It will do anything your average pocket folder will do. Ive carried Buck 110's, Gerber framelocks, Schrades, Barlow, etc but the little bent Kag fixed blade Sat nicely in the bottom of my pocket with the edge facing up. You could sit down bend and everything and I didnt even notice it. Id slide it out of my pocket a bit with the but end sticking out of my pocket and the seat belt didnt even get in the way. I could whup it out fastern my .45 iffen I wanted too. Just didnt need to:D Makes a great steak knife in the restaurant too when they give you a crappy butter knife to cut your Fillet or T-Bone!
