Just curious if there are many folks on this Forum who have taken the plunge and purchased the CRK&T Hisshou. Just wanted to know your thoughts about the knife and if anyone has done any testing, what you discovered, and just some overall thoughts about the knife in general.
I've had mine for a over a month now and really like it for it's obvious quality. I haven't used it anything and never expected to use it when I bought it. It was just one of those purchases where I wanted the knife just because I liked the design, regardless of its utility to me.
I've mentioned the following in another Hisshou thread, and that concerned using an epoxy or something similar on the wrapped handle to give it a more permanent and stable grip. What I used was super glue. I purchased the type that is applied by an included brush, brought it home, and began to paint the wrapped handle. It has taken me two or three bottles, but I have applied 5 coats on the threads. It certaintly gave my hand a harder surface to grip, but not unpleasantly so. Sorta feels like what a sculpted micarta/G-10 grip would feel like. I was able to cut a hole through the top of the handle, through the threads themselves and not steel, without the threads unraveling. Then I applied 5 coats of the SG to the sides of the hole, allowing each coat to dry first. I did this in order to add a laynard to the handle which was made with some dark red paracord I got from knifekits.
Heck, I figured I might as well "make it mine" since I liked as much as I did. Plus a laynard will come in so very handy when I have to go after the zombies that are sure to attack. Man, I want to be prepared, ya' know.
Anyway, just curious about any other Hisshou owners and wanted your thoughts.
