in a posting some place the folowing info was seen:
"computer shows catalogue number 2267, model 110TS"

 but not what year?! when was this 110 made ?!?!
production number is known (was said) to be wrong so not a worry there ...
but what year or years was it made and what were the demisions (thickness) and weight of it?

i know that the 110 has "gained weight & body" over the years and would like compairson info..
thanks much for the time....

Wow, I did not think that anybody ever even heard of that knife! Known as the 110 thin sides (TS). It was developed in an attempt to lower the cost on the 110. I just spent the better part of an hour trying to locate the one boxed unit i know I have here but could not find it. Must already be packed.
I did find another one, along with a letter and old auction from Ebay. Apparantly there were only 5 made and each knife went to one of the members on the project team. Along with being thinner, about 1/2", it has a lanyard hole near the lock release on the rear bolster. There are no rear bolster rivets as the knife is held together by the rocker spring. The front bolster has the 112 Ranger "hook" look.
They were made in 1994.
I hope this helps.

yes that's what i was wanting to know.. i had heard of it on an older ebay listing and found a ref number and that it did not look like a 110. i wander how the spring held the bolsters ? ? if you come cross a pict and have time this would be a nice one to post ! i would add it to my referance pict colection of 110's :D but know you gyuys bussy... thanks dave

334Dave,
The 110 in the linked auction is not the same model Joe referenced in his earlier reply to you. The knife Joe described is different in various ways, not just in thickness. As Joe described, it has a 112-like brass bolster at the pivot end and it has a thong hole in the other bolster. I happen to own one of the five knives made. If you send me a SASE, I will send you a copy of the print-out from an earlier auction when one of them was actually offered on ebay. You will then be able to see the obvious differences. By the way, this 110TS knife that was offered on ebay a few years ago is not the same one that I own, but they are identical in construction and looks.
I hope this clears up the issue for you.

The person who is now selling/auctioning the thin #110 is Bxxxxx Xxxxx, who is currently the Engineering Manager at Buck. I asked Joe Houser about this knife and the thin prototype(5 made), that Larry described on Bladeforums,
that was previously sold on ebay. Joe is now researching this at my request. Right now we don't know for sure which knife is the #110TS(Cat. # 2267). It is unusual for Buck to give a prototype a Catalog and Model number so my bet is that Bill's knife on ebay now is the 110TS. I will keep you posted as I find out more.

If Bxxxxx says he has one of the prototypes then we now know where all 5 knives are. Bxxxxx has one, Buck/Joe Houser has one and three are owned by other Buck Club members.

Ok, I think I have it all figured out now. The 110TS, catalogue number 2267, is merely a thin 110. Looks the same as a regular 110 from a side view but noticably thinner when viewed by looking down on the rocker or back of the knife handle. The computer does not tell me how many were made but it was probably a number close to 100 pieces.
The one i described in my earlier post is not the 110TS.
The one with the 112 "hook", the lanyard hole, and the unique assembly method is the one that Buck only made 5 of as samples.
I hope this helps clear up the confusion i started. :D
