Here's the item that was IN the background of the EU17 pic.

Notice that I said "What's IN the background". . . not "What IS the background?"

Anyway, the object in the background of the pic is my old "Beer Warrior" Ceremonial Induction Helmet!!!

As President and Co-Founder of the Michigan State "Beer Warriors" (The ONLY Undefeated Big 10 Competitive Drinking Team 1990-1992") this helmet was used during the induction ceremonies for new members and worn during drinking competitions with other Big 10 schools.

Here are some better pics. . . . Note that I didn't use a CBL box for my helmet because I didn't have one on hand.

With the new shape of 12 pack boxes, Beer helmets will soon be a thing of the past.

I think we need to make "INFI HOG" Helmets for our next meeting!!!!

In fact it ought to be a requirement for future inductees. . . They need to have an "INFI HOG" Helmet for the induction ceremonies . . . yeah, something with a plastic hog nose on the front!!!!!!

Yes Porkerson. . you can use a Pepsi box!!!!!! :D

It should be noted that the only reason Michigan's team was undefeated during those years is because the University of Iowa's team was deployed to the Gulf... doing man's work. :p

In subsequent drinking matches, alumni of both teams have acknowledged that not only can the former Hawkeyes drink more than former Wolverines but can do so with no sleep.

And to be fair, no members of either team have been able to acquire beer after 0200 hours in Kalifornia for said late night drinking contests. You see... it's rules like that that keep all the world class drinkers in the Midwest. You'll notice that there is no mention of a Pac 10 school having a drinking team. :D

Actually, immediately following the devastating defeat suffered at the mugs of the MSU Beer Warriors (Spartans by the way) the surviving members of the Iowa drinking team (The Hawkeye Beer Gogs) the requested that they be sent to the Gulf where liquor was not available and the shame of being spanked by the Spartans could be forgotten. Apparently it's easier to kill Iraqi's than it is to stand up to the Beer Warriors!!!!!

They actually do have drinking teams on California, they're just in the espresso and latte division. :D

Michigan State... Michigan... it's all the same.

Hiding behind the fact that "Hawks" are better drinkers recreationally than "spartans" are professionally seems like a hollow argument. :p :D

Hmm.... I never had a problem getting booze in Kuwait or in Israel (Saudi was a little "dry")... come to think of it, not only am I a more proficient drinker, I am a better traveled one as well. I've been tanked on 5 continents... maybe 6. :D :p

This thread stinks of beer.....very similar to the nasty stench of lemurs...go figure.

Hmmmmm..... would you like to rethink that statement? :p

Good try, but alas technology has passed you by...

I strongly recommend a new beverage starting to make it's way across the country....water.

Water is for the weak, young nemmy, and shouldn't be consumed straight. Similar to orange juice in that regard. :p

Back in my high school days in the FFA I saw & may have partisipated in some mighty heavy duty drinking competitions with Cal Poly ag students at the Calif. state fairs. Them country boys & gals know how to party. :D

So some Kalifornians have some heavy duty drinkin' teams. You just have to get out of the city limits :D

Oh ya ...................Dang it for not getting the background right :grumpy:  :grumpy:

Rob... up north it's straight corn liquor... also known as gasohol  ... chased with a little, high quality, carbonated, hops/barley water.. :D

Alas I have had experience drinking with the MSU Spartan football team.

I encountered them at Spring Break in Panama City Beach FLa doing "Beer Bongs" when I asked them what they were doing they looked at me (weighing 140 lbs) and said "Beer Bongs". I said cool "Can I do one ?" they sneered and said "Sure, if you think you can handle it" I proceded to clear the funnel and hose in about 7 seconds. All I heard was" whoa check this dude out" and "Do another one dude" they began to feed me more beer bongs. 10 beers through the bong and an extremely full bladder later I bid them adieu and went off to pee. The rest of the weekend every time they saw me they pointed and told their buddies. I became that skinny dude who did all the beer bongs. Heavy drinkers they may be but smart they aint. Never tempt a Grunt with free beer.

Thankfully I am retired from the pro drinking circuit. However I have been known to come out of retirement for exhibitions and such.

Nice helmet by the way.

Oh yeah......Hefe Wiezen....Double Bock....mmmmmmmmmmm.
