History and influence question

I've heard of weapons of the Mid-East and Mediterranean having an influence on (or were influenced by) the Khuk.

Anything (speculation or otherwise) to the north? China or Mongolia? Not much came over the Himilayas?

Just something that popped into my mind after 00-buckshots question.

There are several curved blades similar to the khukuri. The falcata and kopis of the Mediterranean, which I think were vaguely modeled after the Egyptian khopesh.
The yataghan is a slender curved sword that looks a little like the kobras.
As far as I know, they were developed independently.
