History Behind Christmas Plumb Hatchet?

Recently on eBay, a really unique Plumb hatchet sold for way more than I could afford. It was one I had never seen before, a Christmas version that looks like it was given to an employee.

When I saw it, I was immediately curious about it. I did some searching, but could only find one other Christmas Plumb on the internet, but it was a different style Plumb hatchet.

Does anyone know the history behind this? Is it really as rare as it seems, or am I just bad at googling?

I don't know.
Is it just me or does this look to be a national pattern house axe ?
Like a scout leader axe ( I think they called it ) on a house axe handle ?
Looks like a large head for the handle, no way it's a hatchet.

That is awesome and I agree. Mr. Talarski was likely salesman of the year and honored with that axe. There seems to be a tie to Hartford, Connecticut for the Talarski family.
