Hi all !
I want to write an article about Becker Knives, but I can't find anything about the history of the company and some history of the older models.Could you help me ? I must write it untill Friday :)
I remember seing some "history and photos" threads here, but can't find them :(

Anything would be from great help !
Thanks !

Are you sure you're the right man for this job? The founder of Becker Knife & Tool posts to this forum regularly. Why don't you send him a message and request an interview?

I subscribed to this thread hoping someone might post something useful. I have an old BK&T Campanion that I've thought of selling but not sure who actually made it. I know it was before Camillus so maybe BlackJack or Marbles? I'm thinking it was one of those 2 but just can't remember.

Anyway, good luck and I think you'll do fine with your article.

there's a lot of older posts, and picture/literature threads with nearly the complete history... mostly :) just need to find it.

Yes search through all the old posts and I'm sure you will find a treasure trove of information.

If I remember correctly, there's someone here — beside Ethan — who knows more about Becker knives than most of us are ever going to learn. Maybe he would be kind enough to volunteer some information if you can't find everything you need.

i just did, right there ;)

posted, already to the forum, is practically every known piece of Becker literature, catalogs, letters, ... chock full of dates, bios, and history!

course, one can answer specific questions...

in the coming weeks, i'm intending to compile some kind of glorious Becker FAQ, with a lot of that information in one place, and compell people to read it (before asking the same question 1000 times - Ethan's time is precious ;>)

plus it'll be FUN

And that's why I agreed that he should search through the archives first.

I did think, though, that THE PERSON WHOM I DID NOT NAME might, indeed, answer a specific question or two.:D

You've mentioned the FAQ before, and I think it's a super idea! Newbies don't know that a question has been asked — and answered — 1,000 times, so they just keep asking. Your glorious Becker FAQ would help put an end to that.

And yeah, it would be fun to put together. Have fun, brother.

I don't think he is able to search being a registered user but I could be wrong. I can search but just never seem to have much time. I will certainly keep a watch for the above mentioned "project" though. :)

Why don't you try Google?
I just tried "Ethan Becker" and up came a lot of pages about his knives and " all about pasta and noodles"

well, you searching is not necessary per se...

potential FAQ item!: Read the forum - there's more than Page 1 !!!

o start at the top level: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=827

o note those Page numbers, currently "Page # of 19"... clicky! 19 pages. that's not a lot... scan the headers, look for stuff, dive in, read.

o some of those threads are HUGE and filled with juicy content.

o i wish i could combine all the "bk7 or bk9" thread copies :> and "which one whould i buy" threads, etc... heh heh, actually, SOME of the other forums have sub- areas just for that kind of thing, and to reduce the clutter (they even archive stuff)

o some of the really major threads need stickies.

just some thoughts... for the FUUUUUUUTURE.
