Hello folks...I am new to this forum and relatively new to knife collecting. I bought a used Camillus American Wildlife Series knife today in very good condition. I called the good folks at Camillus, who were very nice, and helpful as they could be. It appears that the "historian" at Camillus is no longer with the company (so I was told) so I was wondering if anyone out there could give me information on this knife. I did find out this series of knives was made starting in 1975. The lady I talked to on the phone at Camillus said it was probably around 30 years old.

Ok...a description of the knife (forgive my newbie explanations) It is a 2 bladed knife, which appears to have a long narrow blade with some "scale removing" serrations on the first 1/4 of the blade or so. This blade is marked "American Wildlife" on the blade and at the bottom is stamped Camillus, Stainless, USA. The other side of the blade has "32" stamped at the bottom. The second blade appears to be carbon steel as it is flexible and appears to be a filet knife. There are no markings on this blade...but it has a brass colored liner lock.

The outside of the knife is striking...silver ends and what looks like probably fake stag between the silver. There is a raised oval with blue laquer and a silver "bass" on the knife.

Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. I am very much enjoying collecting nice quality knives and hope to have a new life-long hobby.

Wow...that is great...thanks so much. I really like to know about each knife I get, and this is my first older one I have purchased. The forum looks great, I hope to gain a lot of knowledge from it.
