Hit 2 bushcraft milestones this weekend!

Well I went on an overnight trip with several guys from another forum and we worked on some bushcraft skills. I ended up carving a cedar spoon in the evening around the campfire. It was my first attempt.

Mine is on the bottom. Another guy made the top one, then forgot to take it out of his back pocket when he sat down. Bummer!

The next morning, bindlestitch (from this forum) taught everybody how to make fire using a bowdrill. I was able to get a good ember on my first try.

This was a fantastic outing with a great group of guys. I learned a ton of skills. Now I just need to get out and practice. :thumbup:

Most of the bow drill components were some unidentified wood I found around camp. The fireboard was yucca wood bindlestitch brought specifically for that purpose.
