Here is the one I just finished.
The steel is my homemade crucible steel, This one was brewed with some tungsten in it. Hand forged from ingot to the shape.
The measurements are 4-1/2" long, 1" wide at widest and a bit less than 1/4" thick at the thickest(near the guard). Nicely tapered to the tip.
The guard and the butt cap are nickel silver. Butt cap is carved and selectively blackened, the guard is egraved and fileworked.
The handle is sculpted form the Oregon Black Walnut. It is inlayed with the Sterling Silver vire and perl.
The tadg goes all the way trhough the handle and has a nut under the buttcap. It is not a takedown knife, the buttcap is epoxyed permanently.
The sheath is 8-9Oz leather, hand stiched and wet fit. I carved the matching design on it. Leather is treated with the leather balm and polished with carnauba wax.

Thanks for all comments and for watching.

i like it...the guard is a little frilly, but that's just me...it's still nice

SWEET< just plain old exceelent and you are the sole author for sure, Congratulations. Jim

The handle looks like it would be good for both a "hammer" grip or a "saber" grip, and is big enough to hold on to. I like the ornamentation design using grass stalks, and the leaf for a pommel cap fits the organic theme. The small details fit into the whole project.
The knife he made me was better in all ways than I expected, he put a lot of thought into it. And his home-made steel looks nice and it is SHARP.

Nice. Buttcap, steel, wire inlay, blade and handle shapes/proportions all very nice and work even better as a whole.

That thing is awesome. the size and shape are my cup of tea. And the silver leaf butt cap is as cool as it gets.
Also its pretty, but not so frilly that a redneck oilfield hand like me wouldnt carry it.
If you couldnt tell I really like it.

Thanks Greg

The only thing I would change is the owner.
If I wasn't paying for diesel fuel I would say "I'lll take it".
Nice work.
