Went for a hike over by the local reservoir and fished a while. Great day for it.
Met some folks that were finishing a crazy roundabout 26-mile day hike.
I didn't hike anything like that--more like 5 miles total. But I had a fun time fishing too.

Here's the Camelbak pack I took. It's an older version of the Cloud Walker, I believe.

Took a few knives along. Since Ethan won't send me a Tweener to play with, I'm forced to carry a Busse. :p

A smart man would have just paddled, brother. ;)

('Course, a smart man wouldn't have volunteered to work a vacation relief for one of his engineers on a Saturday either.) :(

Looks like a perfect day. I love mixing hiking with fishing. Looks like a nice variety of fish caught too.

Exactly the way I love to spend my weekends! Unfortunately, most of today was working on the exhaust of the Durango.

Now that's the way to do Saturday. Great shots. That is a damn fine little camera.

I love the fight that some Sheephead put up, but they are annoying to me, mainly because I can't eat them.

Looks like a good way to spend a day outside.

I've tried the drum. It's a little oily to me.
The consistency of the meat isn't Grade-A either.
However, what I call sheepshead are the saltwater variety.
Those are quite delicious. Kind of a pain to clean, but delicious.
Here's a picture of me with a sheepshead.

I've never saltwater fished before. My favorite type of fish is still Perch or Salmon, so I can get my fix of perch here on Lake Erie, and I get my salmon from a buddy that catches them in Michigan somewhere.

Catching the Sheephead on Lake Erie is fun.. but it is annoying when you are fishing for food. (Which is what I do 99% of the time)

I agree on the drum. Caught one at the lake one year and it was oily and boney as hell. Definitely a throw back if I ever get one on my line again.

Good pics, good times. Trying to work up some sympathy about the whole Tweener thing but getting nowhere :D

Nice trip, man; looks like a lot of fun. Makes me jealous that I had to work.

BTW, nice skills catching a cat with a spoon.

Looks like a great time brother. That little alcohol stove is sweet.
