I am loving the black plain edge blade, and the overall aesthetics of the knife. But dimensions wise I am a bit worried it may be too big for my everyday carry. Right now I am using a BM Mini Skirmish. I know there is only about half an inch difference, but I am hoping someone can tell me that the HK is not as full bellied as the Mini Skirmish?

How is the knife's size and quality? All the pics I have found seem to make it look awesome! Thanks.

i have its bigger brother the 14200 i love it completely. and i like the size i would not want it smaller perfect for edc REVIEW here

^ The 14200 and the 14205 have the same dimensions (except width), I believe. They look like they use the same blade and liner. You were thinking of the 14210, it's the smaller one.

I don't think that the 14205 is too big to edc. I don't have both knives in front of me at the moment, but if you are used to carrying a Mini Skirmish I can't see you having much/any problem with the 14205 as far as size goes.

I've owned the 14210, 14205 and the 14200 and of all of them I think I like the 14200 best.

The 210 is a real beauty and a great little gents folder just a bit short in the handle for me and kind of slick too. Otherwise its perfection though.

The 205 is near perfect and would be if BM had made the scales thicker. To me the obvious stand out difference besides the solid scales on this one compared to the 14200 is how much the buttons stick up higher on the 205. On my 14205 it was noticable how much they stuck out there and I didn't much care for that personally. If my son had not loved it as it was I'd have probably built some new scales for it in something thicker.

I did that on my 14200 and it was perfect after I Waved it but even then I sold it off.

They are all great. The draw back to the 14200 is the tacky upper grips which tended to really grab pants when trying to slide the handle over the pocket rim. Otherwise it was a sweet one and I liked the bolster look even if they are actually one solid piece only made to look like two.

That's funny, mines' the opposite opinion!

I had a 14200 and got rid of it because I didn't like the handles on it. I picked up a 14205 and just love the flat G-10 scales! The knife weighs some, but is a great fit in my pocket and the AXIS offers a glassy smooth delivery.

I traded off my 710D2 because it was too big for my medium-sized hands, the 14205 is one of my favorite heavy-duty EDC's!

Nice, thanks. The BM Mini Skirmish is pretty much my knife max as far as EDC goes. I guess I am being paranoid over the half inch increase in size. Thanks though, I think I will have to get one and check it out!

Awesome. Thanks. I actually prefer a thinner handle. Sounds like there isn't any issue with the size of it. Definitely making me want it even more.

The 710 was a bit big for me too, and I couldn't edc it comfortably. But the 14205 is better sized in your opinion?! Thats great. Cause I was feeling the same about the 710. Thanks for chiming in.

My son just told me yesterday that of all the knives he has recieved from me that his favorite is the 14205 plain edge I gave him. He has a lot of very nice knives on his and from me too including a Zero Tolerance 302 and 200 as well as Buck Striders and others that are all quite nice. It says a lot that he prefers that HK.

Personally I don't think you could go wrong with any of the three I've mentioned. They all rate very highly no matter who looks them over.
