Anyone use the Hk axis? Thinking about grabbing one to go with my 810 contego. Handled one at cabelas and felt as smooth as the 810.

Contego is my first benchmade and I'm getting spoiled.

I have one. It is me edc. Absolutely love it. Feels great in hand and BM does an excellent job on the D2.

The HK Axis models ARE Benchmades and come with the same warranty as all of the rest made in Oregon City. I own the older 14205 and 14210 models that are equal to the very best of their (BKC) offerings even in today's terms. The current 14716BK family with the coffin shaped handles are this season's bargains at around $100 and a lot of us like them.

Have to wait a couple of weeks, but was impressed with it. I think the sand scales with a straight edge would be my choice.

Side note: what do you guys recommend for sharpening stones for the m4 and d2? The 810 is the first knife I have "tougher" than the ats 34.

Silicon carbide for most, and for sure diamond, do just fine with all steels. Never used boron?, but understand it's between Sic and diamond.
BTW, D2 is no way comparable to M4 in any way. To me they even sharpen completely different.

Is the d2 easier or harder than say s 30 v? The 940-2 might be my Christmas after the Hk.

Depends on knife brand. In my experience, benchmade D2 and s30v is close, but s30v takes a bit longer.
Spyderco s30v takes a different technique, and slightly more difficult.
