I drop shipped a new HK Sand Colored folder. The customer states there is oil marks on the handle is this common from the oil or preservative that they put on the blades?

My 14715 came with a lot of oil in the pivot. So yes it is not unheard of.

When you say "oil marks" do you mean stains or discoloration of the handle material from the oil? or that there was simply oil on the handle?

Oily pivot, recommend towel rubbing technique.
