Any love for this knife? Liked my tumult I used to have and am thinking this would be a great replacement. Anyone own one?

Lovely knife, though a little steep price wise for Benchmade's little brother. Excellent D2 steel and decent lock up for an OTF. The best part is the action though, seriously one of the most responsive and quick firing OTFs I've had the pleasure of using. I paid retail, but finding it on sales would be ideal.

I also had one and I have to say I loved the knife just wasn't a fan of the color combination I had. I would gladly purchase another one in black with a satin blade.

I almost bought one, but spent the money on a gun instead. If I were to get a OTF, it would be the Turmoil. I liked it more than the Ultratech that was sitting next to it.

Is there a tiny bit of side to side and up-and-down play in the blade when it's open? I have heard this is normal based on the design.

Any OTF will have a little bit. Can't be avoided. The Microtechs I handled had a tiny bit. The Turmoil, Infidel, and Mini-Infidel I handled had even less, but there was still some.

WI just changed its laws to allow for autos to be carried. I bought a new style Ultratech and a friend of mine bought a Turmoil. Very similar in action and feel. The Ultratech has less play both forward/back and side to side that the Turmoil. Both awesome OTF's for EDC though. Time will tell how they each hold up I suppose.

Is it ok to post the site here? They're out and it seemed I bought the last one.

Hmm... on second thought since you asked here and right now it's $96 but they've been out for months and their price goes up and down while OOS.

[Nope, we don't do deal spotting here. Please take a minute and read the rules.]

I like the Turmoil, but I'd advise against the tan scales, they seem to attract and show every spec of dirt. It's almost like a matte white finish in that regard. I've never had a Turmult, but I do have an Epidemic, that's a cheesy looking knife to me. Honestly, I prefer the feel of the Ultratech, it has more heft, but feels like quality heft, whereas the Turmoil feels a bit hollow and cheap. Mine has functioned flawlessly though, where my Ultratech seems to be a misfiring lemon. The Turmoil is easy to operate and fires hard, just has a bit of a twangy sound, but I'm still happy with it.

You know, I looked all over (even here) for a Chinese copy of the Turmoil and haven't yet found any. So far everything I got is legit, the box, papers, bag and the knife.

Maybe it was a closeout but then the ad would be gone unless they're not updating the site.

Well gentlemen, I decided to open it up and see how well it's made. It's very well made. The screws have loc-tite on 'em and the boss of the blade and the interior of the housing is as smooth as it can be. Even the springs doesn't look cheap.

I think it's a real McCoy. :)

So, they require you to fill out a form claiming to be a dealer so they can mail the knife to you? So, if you're a dealer, why buy from them?

I see it but it didn't apply to me. I made three purchases so far and never touched a form.
