I finished a USP 40 today. Grip was recontoured and stippled. Slide was finished in O.D. Gun-Kote. Polished internals.

I've seen these everywhere lately. Saw one at the gun shop with a very attractive green frame. (I wish I'd gotten the OD frame for the G23 when it was available.)

Excellent job and super pics. I have to say that the gun-kote finish on this seems to be smoother than what I saw on your earlier efforts? What do you think, are you improving? Not that your first ones were bad at all, but this looks super professional.

How did you go about stippling the grip frame?

Broken Arrow-Looks great, I've been wanting to redo an old Ruger MKII ,but can't get access to a sand blaster or parkerization.

That's an airsoft.

H&K never made a USP with a date code of "TM", they only use the letters A thru K (excluding J) to represent the numbers 0 thru 9.

The "TM" where the date code should be stands for Tokyo Mauri, an airsoft manufacturer.

Funny, it even shares the same serial number (28-2657) with this Toyko Mauri spring powered airsoft gun...

if its a real gun he shouldnt have any problem taking it apart so we can see its a real gun. if he doesnt want to take it apart then a shot of the gun with the action open showing different views of the gun.

I dont know, but really, it doesnt matter. The work he did on it would look exactly the same if it were a real firearm. Let us not forget that the high-end airsoft guns are almost as expensive as actual firearms...

Looking at the barrel in this first picture it sure looks like a .40 caliber hole with rifling.

If indeed the one shown is an Airsoft, maybe the work was done to it to show what can be done to a real one?

I just looked up WGC Shop online. They sell Airsoft and non funtioning models of real weapons. According to the pictures the models look just like the real thing, the slide and magazine work, but it can't fire. Did they get permission from H&K to make a Replica of their pistol? Cause if I didn't know it was a replica I'd swear it was the real thing (at least from the pictures, holding it I might could tell it wasn't).

Tokyo Mauri and other major airsoft manufacturers DO purchase proper licensing rights to use firearm manufacturer's real logos and designs.

My mistake on my part for not putting the proper label on the USP that it was an airsoft trainer. The work involved in moding an airsoft trainer / replica is very similar to the real version. Also, polishing the internals on the trainer does make it run smoother also. Very similar to the real thing.

Also, the owner of this USP airsoft trainer wanted me to make it to look like his real USP that I did up. The work done to the airsoft trainer costs very similar to the real pistol.

Nice work. :) I can't tell which is the airsoft gun and which is the real Glock. Thanks for clearing the model/airsoft VS real gun thing up. :)
