HM cuchillos, in Argentina. Anyone seen his work?

I apologize if this is not the right forum. But i am traveling and looking for a "Argentina" style knife to bring home. Really don't want a show piece. Looking for a small skinner or small blade to use. Maybe something bigger as a gift. I came across this local maker. I am going to meet him at his house tomorrow. To me meeting the craftsman makes the who experience so much better and adds to the story. He uses a lot of high Cabon steel like 1095, Can that work well for a field knife or skinning knife?

I really like some of the basic designs he is putting out. Simple and clean with some Argentinean design showing through.

Has anyone come across these knives or the maker? even if you haven't any opinions?

I know he uses mostly steel like 1095. But can that work well for a field knife? Any opinions about the knives? i felt they looked nicely done.

that was my thought for a working blade. not any super steal but it works.
1095 definitely works for a field steel, esp. if it's had a good heat treat.

Those two larger blades definitely got my attention. Where in Argentina is the maker?
 
I have used many knives in 1095. It’s a nice steel for easy edge maintenance. Even with just a field sharpener it’s quick to bring back to razor sharp.

I like some of those knives you pictured, seems like a good maker!

I take it the double-edged long knife is a facon, the knife gauchos always carry diagonal in a sheath in their backs.
 
I like the looks for that last pig-sticker. Is it high-carbon steel, or is that just a surface treatment?
 
Then his sheaths should have a belt clip. :)

you are correct. After talking to him today i don't think he specifically borrows from the Facon. I think his knives just have that influence. I never really understood the "BBQ set" that you see a lot down here. He explained to me that in Argentina when you are invited over for a BBQ, you often bring your own knife and fork. You also often bring your own "board" that you eat off of. That way no dishes for the host to do. They are practical but also "show off" a little that you have a nice set of knife/fork. Kind of a cool tradition. But i still would never use it. I have different needs.
 
I meet the guy today and he is super nice. He had a limited stock so i didnt find what i wanted. But i did handle his personal EDC and i loved it. This is the one i handled!

I will be ordering one and have him ship it to me. I am thinking it will be used mostly for more detailed work cleaning game. Would you guys go 2mm or 3mm for that?
I am thinking orange and gray scales like the one posted above. Or something with a linin micarta.

I did pick this one up for my father in-law.
