I recently got a Pelican 1600 to store my knives, and I figured I'd put some knife brand stickers on it. I looked through my boxes and realized that the only brand sticker that I've ever gotten was from Chris Reeve Knives. So after slapping that on the case, I went online to see if I could find some decals from my favorite knife manufacturers. I was surprised by few offerings there are. T-shirts and hats seem fairly common, but I guess we're not much of a sticker/decal community.

What brand knives did u purchase

I've found that stickers make you a target for theft. If someone recognizes the sticker they immediately know what you have. If it's something like a Chris Reeve sticker they know the theft is going to be worthwhile. I don't know if that's the reason they aren't popular but, it is why I don't care for them.

Anything in a nice case is a thief-magnet, stickers or not. Chances are, it's something more valuable than dirty socks. Otherwise it would be in a ratty old suitcase or cardboard box.

Exactly why I don't advertise what I have knives, guns, stereo equipment, no bumper stickers other than a watch 4 motorcycles window decal. If you feel compelled to display stickers/decals put them on the inside of the case, lift up the lid to my tool box and its covered with old stp stickers, cranes cams and what not but outside it was clean.

The days thieves like the best are the Christmas holidays, people get all kinds of brand new expensive toys/tools, computers and all kinds of easily moved items.

Then they throw all the boxes in the garbage basically giving any their an instant inventory of their new toys. Agreed your garbage, break down your boxes do thieves don't know what you have, better yet don't put all of you boxes out at one time or even during the Christmas holiday, wait a few weeks and send it out in dribs and drabs.

Thieves love the holidays, people are always going somewhere to visit someone always leaving homes in protected, make friends with your neighbors they're the first line of defense when your not home,

I had a neighbor who was very nosey, when I worked midnight shift, my brother was living with me while my mother was getting the salvage/junkyard together and he would come home with whatever car came into the yard with gas in it. He drove a different car ever day by the end of the first week the old lady next door told me how she didn't want to interfere but while I was working hard at night my wife/gf was entertaining a different man every night and how he would leave at 5 am eventing before I got home, (my brother had to drive to NEPA from south central Jersey to get to mom's yard everyday). At least I knew every car that was coming over the house, she always knew when someone didn't belong there.

Displaying your collection is great but it also makes stealing your goodies easier, they're already prepackaged, thieves don't care about original boxes and paper work they're gonna sell your precious knives for pennies on the dollar.

Get a dog, that might not stop them but it will change most of their minds and definitely slow most thieves down.

My last thought on the sticker subject, so long as your not selling them, print them out yourself, most printers today have the ability to scan an example and print it on an adhesive backed vinyl sheet and make your own.

Sorry for rambling and kinda going off topic, when it comes to thieves nothing drives me crazier than people who make a thieves job easier.

I like stickers too. Might even hang a fridge magnet of a logo. Or at least a "Protected by Benchmade" sticker on the front door.

I bet there are some cool antique signs out there too...porcelain on steel--like those Picker guys look for. Knife signs like that would be rare. That subject with pics would almost make its own thread.

The dearth is noticeable. I try to remember to ask for any stickers I can get when I order a knife but I"m not sure what the dealers really have. Maybe a 'We Want Stickers' campaign would work.

Spyderco has their bug logo stickers.

I too wish I had more stickers from knife company's, I like to put stickers on my guitar cases. I think at that point, a sticker won't make any difference for a thief. When they see a guitar case, they don't care if there's a Chris Reeves sticker on it, its the guitar itself that is the target. Plus, if someone tried to steal my stratocaster, I could easily use it for self defense, the damn thing weighs like 15 pounds:eek:

Currently, my guitar case has stickers from guitar company's and micro-breweries, so adding some knife manufacturers would be awesome!

I am into bicycles and a few years ago I emailed every company I could think of asking if they had stickers. I asked that if they did have them, would it be possible to get some if I sent them an SASE. Most replied yes, others directed me to their website, and others stated that for $3 I could get a catalog and some decals. I also get to attend the big bike show in Vegas most years where I collect hundreds of decals each time I visit. I have photo albums full of them, and rarely stick them on anything, unless I have multiples. I do have many decals on my fairing for my roof rack, but I don't fear thieves because of that. If my bike is up there, they know what is on it so it doesn't matter if I have decals on it or not. I've also got decals on my mini-fridge and my metal toolbox.

I've seen Ferrari decals on a beat up 25 year old Honda, doesn't mean one could follow him home and steal his Ferarri. (doesn't mean he doesn't have one either, I work w/a guy who drives a POS truck and he has 2 older Ferraris).

If you haven't, try emailing the makers you are interested in and ask if you can get some decals if you send an SASE.

Is there a specific company(s) you are having trouble finding sticker for?

Someone suggested trying to print your own. If you do that, let us know how it works.

Well, it is an AXE.
I agree, stickers aren't usually going to be the problem; leaving the case in your front seat is.
I doubt you have all of the sticker brand items in your case anyway. Unless maybe you're an alcoholic. And how many people know who How many people with S&W shirts or Browning window decals actually own them? And how many people know Les Paul from Chris Reeve?
If it is a case he keeps at home, it doesn't really matter anyway.

I was at the spyderco outlet and bought a S110v manix, asked the gal at the front if they had stickers and she gave me like 4 or 5 all different too!

It was a good ramble. I don't display my knives or keep them in an expensive case but I do keep them in a locked box. I probably shouldn't,I guess the lock sort of makes it a target... but I can't not lock it up. It's not a nice expensive case but all the knives in there make it pretty heavy so I hope that would deter anyone. Plus they'd have to go looking for it.

My knives live approximately 5 feet away from where I sleep. Stickers or not, the bas***ds will have to go through me to get them
