I am looking for something, i just dont know what it is, google was no help, so i thought i would ask you guys, maybe someone could point me in the direction i am seeking.

I am looking for a knife, perhaps it doesnt exist, perhaps i just dont know what or where to look for it.

I am looking for a pen knife, clip and pen blade (preferably single spring, but double spring wont be a deal breaker). 3"-3 1/4" in length with carbon steel and either a good jigged bone or stag handles. I have found tons of pen knives with stainless steel blades (not what i am looking for) or smaller than i want usually 2 5/8" or 2 3/4" or even 2 7/8". I have found the case pen, but i dont really want the delrin, or conversely the case pen in bone scales but stainless steel.

its weird, does this knife even exist anymore

I am familiar with the conductor but its a bit bigger at 3 3/8" and the white owl at 3 1/2" but those are in normal pocket knife sizes, and the Alox sak and texas jack already fill that role in my pockets. I already have a buck 309 but i have the yellow delrin version (with stainless of course)..

anyways, is this the knife unicorn (ie no longer exists) or am i just not looking in the right places.

thanks in advance
Ryan

The Boker 240 is a half whittler, about 3-1/16" closed, with clip main and pen in carbon steel.

Uh oh, i am in trouble now!

went to the jackson mississippi gun show, you know to look around
guess what i found :D

Boker tree brand 240 stamped
black bone scales and carbon steel blades
pretty sweet, not to shabby for $35 if i dont say so myself

Looks like what you were looking for! I'm sure you'll enjoy that knife in May, you know, when your current New Year's resolution expires. :D

By the way, would love to see pics beside your texas jack. How long is the main blade on that one?

Very cool knife! I love the jigging and color! The blades look nice too. Could we get some close ups?

Thanks!

;)
why do you think i posted what i did, about being in trouble. One of the things i learned from my 2 month experiment is, i dont need to carry 2 knives of the same size, its redundant and does nothing but take up extra pocket space. I LOVE the texas jack and i have absolutely nothing bad to say about it, except i would rather drop it from my pocket than the sak with the tools. Also if i swap to the pioneer and the pen knife, i can dump the alox classic on my key rings and save even more space. I will probably do just this on March 1st, hey a solid 2 months is nothing to be ashamed of :D

Will do, give me a couple minutes to take a few pics and upload them

Find a vintage Case 087 jack. Exactly what you want. 2 springs, yes, but it is about the same thickness as my single spring GEC white owl.

Ok pic dump :P

up close and personal, detail pics

Some comparison pics with the texas jack

Hope the pics are ok, rather kinda tried to throw them up in a hurry :p

Thanks for the additional pics. That is a beautiful knife. Glad you found it. Can't wait to hear how it fares in your EDC rotation in the upcoming weeks and months. Looks great and is a good size too.

Here's another Boker pen with a clip and pen combo, this one is 3 5/8. This is a 3588 pattern.

Best regards
