It only matters to the people that own the name, sometimes not even then. If you run into a maker...ask them...if it is a large company, do yur best and listen to what the reps say. Personnaly I say...

Boker - Boke-ur
Laguilnole - La-gween-ole
Lapua - la-poo-ahh
Buck - crap

I don't know what your beef is with Buck but at
least be decent enough not to attack this company
in public.

Buck as done more than many companies to protect
our knife rights along with being a very good
American Christian company.

Your commment was a cheap shot, shame on you.:footinmou

I agree with Tightwad....that was a cheap shot against Buck. If you have some issues against this company, I think that you should have started this thread in the Good, Bad and Ugly forum....not here.

relax guys, steve-o is obviously a little slow, and should not h ave his opinion consideredin any situation.

Steve-O, did your Buck knife fail you? Was there a defect in the knife's workmanship? If so, did you contact Buck Knives about it? Did you send it in to be looked at or repaired? Was it a bad customer service experience?

Obviously, you have something against Buck Knives and if that's the case, you should post your concerns in the Buck Forum rather than coming off as a troll.

...stops here:)

My 110 still going strong.

The new line(s) are well considered and executed.

Buck, like Gerber, has had its tough times but has emerged better, and a continuing force in the industry.

Another well hidden keyboard hero commando emerges.

Buck is an excellent company that makes excellent knives for the price point they sell at, as well as excellent customer service.

My opinion:

Boker = Bah-ker
Laguiole = La-yoll (I think Yobbos1 has it right)
Lapua = :confused:
Buck = Flame-bait :)

I don't own any Bucks, but I've always admired my dad's 110. That's got to be the classic American folding knife design.

Steve-o--your bad.
Buck turns out a decent product at a decent price and some stellar products as well.
The Buck Co. has been a very good neighbor in our knife community and provides excellent customer service when the inevitable problems crop up.
If you have an axe to grind about a specific issue, you should post it in GBU.If not---ahhh, never mind.

When I first the contents of Steve-O's post. . .I had to chuckle. cerulean pretty much summed up what I thought, "flame bait !"

Steve-O's been around long enough to know about GB&U and Whine & Cheese. Either forum. . .he'd still draw some hefty "slam" time. . .by not providing "the why."

:D

We've had this before and it's pretty difficult to explain the correct German pronunciation of the word "Böker" to Americans with nothing but a keyboard - but your assumption is about as wrong as it gets...sorry.

EDIT (just noticed that post):

OK, that one takes the cake as the worst way to pronounce it. :D
