Hmmm..saw a 111

I saw an interesting 111, too bad they discontinued the 111 frame. Maybe we'll see more engraved bolsters from Buck.

Even with zoom I could not make out the first word on the ribbon....The inlay. is it a pic? regardless the engraved bolsters really jump out don't they...

There are some with no engraving,same 111,750 engraved,unknown no engraving....on SMKW catalog cover that just came out.

I've seen a few NIB on ebay this week as well.
Maybe they are going to become regular production?
I almost bought one last night just for the nickel bolsters!

Yep, got my catalog today also, and that is indeed correct; however, there is more!! It also states that Buck recently ended production of the 111. Furthermore, SMKW apparently bought out the remaining inventory. "Final Production - Post Falls ID" is etched on the blade; the handle inset appears to be a pic of the Buck factory.

hummm final production,,,welllllllll...
i asked of the 111 not very long ago..
no they are not making them like they make the 110 and 112
this is likely the last of the speculation run.

i was told directly that it could come back any time
as a limited edition if some company placed large order..
but truly i don't know anything.. jest guessing here!
well .. not quite true ...
that and most all the after market re-workers hate it..
