Hmmm, that's not good (warning, bent clip content).

I caught the clip on my Umnumzaan on the edge of a metal door this morning. The clip got bent right out of shape and the knife was flug from my pocket. Not the best at all. :grumpy: Thankfully Titanium can take a bit of a bending before it snaps so I was able to bend it back to shape with out any disasters. :D:thumbup: IMO one of the best reasons to use Ti for clips over steel. I have snaped a few steel clips on knives and torches in my time but not a titanium one....yet.

friggin bummer man, good thing you didn't lose 'er completely. Nice save.

It's just a scratch from the door I caught the clip on, it wasn't there before. I suppose it could have been from a rivet on my jeans actually, that would seem more likely now I think about it......

Ok, but what is that looong scratch on the lock bar? :D

Man that had to hurt!

I recently had a Hinderer Investigator pen in my pocket, and the Ti clip did the exact same thing - as it got caught on the arm of the chair, and it bent out at an awful angle. I was able to remove it and bend it back to it's original shape pretty easily.

No doubt a steel clip would have snapped.

Ti is some amazing stuff.

Looks like your Umnum has a little more character now.

Some nice user love! ha ha! Hate it when that happens, but it is one disadvantage of clips, they get caught on stupid things sometimes.

That's one of the many reasons I prefer the Clip on the Ti-Lock, hope they upgrade the whole line to that clip.

Sorry to hear that Haze,I bent the clip on my Buck Vantage. It happens, they can get caught on things and dig into fabric upholstery sometimes. The good thing is you can hopefully bend it back.I have been thinking about removing the clip on some of my knives that will take a lanyard. The only worry I have using a lanyard is the pivot area of a folder sitting in the bottum of my pocket and picking up grit and pocket lent. When you feed critters hay twice a day some always finds it's way into you're pocket.

I did the EXACT same thing on my unnumzaan. Then of course I lost the clip and screw. Still didn't call to get a new one, this reminded me to do so tomorrow.

was the swedge on yours sharpened? I only say that because it has what appears to be sharpening marks on it.

It wasn't sharpened from the factory but I have sharpened it my self. I lost a small piece from the tip so to bring the point back I sharpened the swedge and edge. I also like to keep the first 10mm or so of the swedge sharp so I have a sacrificial edge for tasks that may cause a bit of damage. :)

Bummer about the clip but good that it was easily fixed.

Problem is that the knife is now scratched and surely not worthy of being used by you anymore...........

So just send it to me for appropriate attention :D

That's a stinger ! Did it snap on the first bend or when it was bent back ?

Aye, sure thing mate. I'll get it packed up for you the now. :p:thumbup:

When I went to get out of the cab I got hung up on seatbelt and almost fell back down into seat . At the time I didn't realize what had gotten me hung up. About a half hour later in the bar I gave my hip/thigh a little pat (the knife check pat im sure a lot of forum members do)and my knife wasn't there. I paniced for a second and put my hand into my pocket and my knife was at the bottom. I remeber thinking well how the hell did that happpen, I pull it out and the clip was gone. I instantly had one of those flashback moments you see in the movies to when I was getting out of cab.

It's lucky the knife didn't get yanked out your pocket, you seem to have gotten the better of the two options even if it ment a broken clip. :p:thumbup:

Ti clips can be adjusted back fairly easy. You can also use the edge of a table to get it back into angle.
