Hi guys - - I got my first RAT knife today :) its an RC-4 orange/green. I also got a Tek-Lok and Molle back for it. I noticed that the two center holes on the kydex sheath are drilled much larger than the others. When I attach the Tek-Lok the holes are bigger than the head of the screw, so that only one screw is actually holding the Tek-Lok to the sheath - -

Am I missing some magical RAT feature, or do I need to exchange the sheath for another ? Of course I could use some kind of washer, but I prefer that everything be right after putting out the cash.
I really like the knife and am heading out to the hills so hate to give up my RC-4 even for a few days. Thanks in advance for your input

P.S. - - how do you post a pic itself here, and not just the link ? Ive been here for awhile but never posted any pics

Left click the picture, click properties, copy the URL. When you are ready to post it, click the button that looks like it has a mountain on it and click paste in the box it opens up! Should work for you!

The head of the screw goes in the TekLok, not the sheath. Holes are suppose to be that big on the sheath. Barrel nut goes against the sheath. Bolt head goes against Teklok.

Thanks guys ! I used the shiny unpainted barrel nuts that came with the extra Tek-Lok that I ordered, so I thought they should be on the hidden side. Duh ! There were also black painted barrel nuts with the RAT that I didn't see earlier. - - - Instructions ? Too excited to thoroughly read that stuff ! All is set up properly now. Wow this RC-4 is gonna be a user. - - I love the belly of the blade. Good for field dressing game. Thanks again for your help - - -

That's the reason we put the instruction sheet in the package. Sure saves a lot of time from posting on BFs asking a question or returning a "defective" knife ;)

Yeah, actually I was copying how a Spyderco factory sheath is set up for their Moran knife using the Tek-Lok. They use the silver unpainted barrel nuts and put them on the inside with the screw heads on the outside, the exact opposite of RAT

Gotcha. Spyderco has always been backwards! :D

Appreciate you buying the RC-4. Let us know how it performs.

Instructions...we don't need no stinkin instruction:D

Just kidding I found them helpful...plus the survival card has a permenant place in my wallet.

Almost every time, without fail, when we get an email or a post that something doesn't work right on the sheath, we just post or email a pic of the instructions and it pretty much covers it ;)

It's like how nobody reads the stickies here. No one reads the instructions :D

Yep so it would be useless to make the instructions a sticky here ;)

it is useless to make stickies anywhere....no one reads them. :)

When I do a contest over on the other forum, I refuse to make them sticky because of that very fact.
