What are some of your hobbies, or what do you collect? I like to collect Buck knives (now I concentrate on the 110), old woodcraft and scouting books, and old scouting gear. For hobbies, my wife and I like to go for short hikes (2-8 miles) and thanks to jds1, I`ve discovered I really like camping. I also enjoy shooting my remaining guns. Let`s hear about yours.

I've been enjoying learning about brewing, which I think will be expanding into a full blown hobby. I also have been reading quite a bit about charcuterie. I made a ham last weekend and made some bread and butter pickles on Friday.

I'd like to make my own bacon and will be doing that this week. Once I get my meat grinder, I will expand into sausage making. I also have been acquiring some antique as well as modern butchering tools and am looking into purchasing a whole pig to process.

Fishing and hunting have always been passions, although I don't get out nearly as often as I used to. I did two pheasant hunts at hunt clubs last fall but missed the deer season and went on a handful of fishing outings.

My primary hobby is photography, but I also enjoy metal detecting, politics and reading (primarily westerns and books about the Constitution).

Aside from knives I collect books (mostly Louis L'Amour) and cowboy boots.

For many years I was an avid hunter, but that has been severely hampered living in NJ. I still fish on occasion though.

I go backpacking a couple times a year and always look forward to this. Camping and making traditional bbq in the smoker are some other things I enjoy. Football season is coming up and me and some friends like to go watch the local high school and college games on the weekend. My at home interests include collecting knives, books, and records. I mostly focus on classic country and bluegrass albums these days but have a pretty eclectic collection.

My favriote my hobby would be target shooting, but as of late I've been forced to cut back on that for reasons out of my control. Another hobby would be knife sharpening, mostly my own but people who know me like give me there knives to sharpen. I guess knowing how to sharpening knives isn't a requirement for men anymore. I've recently been getting into whittling, I think it would make a real cool hobby that I could do anywhere.

I've been a book collector for quite some time. Mostly novels, but I also have a LOT of mountaineering and climbing literature, including several early edition guidebooks.

For the last several years I've really been enjoying SUP. Lots of good lakes and river sections close to home so I can get out a few times a week.

I have a lot of books but only one "collectable" whcih is a signed leather bound edition of the Hitchhikers "trilogy" I do tend to pick up old editions of Douglas Adams books when I find them though

also hawk, hatchets, axes old tools and edc items...and a serious Jk addiction

Retired, but I stay busy. I do a bit of technical writing from time-to-time if the job interests me.

I collect knives and haven't settled on any one thing yet. But, like John, the biggest concentration of any one mfg. in my collection are Bucks so maybe I collect Bucks? :D Anyhow, I recently found GEC knives (thanks, protourist!) and that may well wind up being what I concentrate on. Man, they are gorgeous and well built knives.

Saints fanatic, helping to run the largest Saints forum on the 'net. Season tickets with Dad from the very beginning (1967) until he could no longer attend and then I took over his tickets until we moved to NM. Reader and book collector. A substantial library of collectibles obtained over many years. Non-collectibles I now read on my Kindle. Gun collector with a fairly substantial armory as I inherited my Dad's collection and added my own. Love music. Riding my UTV in the vast Northern NM and Southern CO forests.

Also a dog trainer, but no longer do that with any but my own (although I DO help friends occasionally). I used to train and sell professional dogs - scent, search and rescue (one of my dogs worked Oklahoma City bombing), K9, guard, whatever was needed. Now both of my guys are trained and certified as service dogs. Wife is disabled and our dogs are both trained to many things around the house that she needs help with. Everything from fetching things, picking things up, turning lights on and off, opening doors (that are properly set up for them to do so), and much more. This is probably one of the things I most enjoy in life. My guys in the back of my Can-Am UTV:

I collected basketball and baseball cards as a kid. I still them all(well over 10,000 I'm sure). None of them are very valuable but just momentos I keep and thumb through about once a year. My most prized card(though certainly not the most valuable) is an autographed rookie card of Johnie Red Kerr. I got it from his son Eddie whom I'd become friends with. Sadly, it was after Johnie's death. Would've loved to blow the froth off a few and hear some Bulls stories.

I now collect knives, flashlights, multi tools and pool/billiards collectibles. I'm getting into hiking more and more as well as kayaking as of late

I've been collecting JRR Tolkien books since I was a kid. Here's part of the collection, along with my new growing collection of knives:

My hobbies are mainly camping with the family and hiking around Colorado.

I enjoy old radios. Tube type. I love to see the glow and use a 50+ year old radio.

I appears that that mostly I like to eat, a lot! I eat pretty much anything, But I do not like Green Eggs & Ham.
Fish a bit also........sometimes I eat them also.

I used to collect Smokey Bear stuff, but stopped since getting into knifes in a big way.
Now it's JK & Schrade/Craftsman knives.
And music,can't live without music!
I only have a fraction of the albums I used to have(around 200 now) & 250+ CDs.
I had a wall of cassettes but they got so old that every time I'd go to play one it didn't work.(thank goodness for vinyl & CDs.)

Schrade, forgot schrade, (I have 2 left btu I do look for them more then most folders :))

Music, very cool, I've become a "student" of country/alt county/bluegrass since something to Kentucky, I don't collect anything but some stories and knowledge of it here and there, most of ti passively acquired through listening to my wife talk. i don't buy albums anymore unless its a K. kristofferson or Iris Dement new release:)

Forgot the hobbies part, I have always kept up (though not always very well) a running hobby and I've recently started playing chess again, so if anyone wants to kick my ass via mail...:) oh, and hiking and stuff, taking pictures of knives but ow i guess we're talking about Jk's again :D

My number one hobby is astronomy (observing deep space with my telescope) I sketch and record every object. Number two hobby is antique farm equipment, mainly stationary steam and traction engines. I don't own any but I've been to steam schools and have a boilers license to operate engines. I don't officially have any collections but I do seem to have several types of star atlases. I do like collecting knives but I just don't have the cash on hand. I like John's knives, they do everything I need them to do and will eventually get more.

I LOVE to skydive. I also enjoy rock climbing, snowboarding, scuba diving, fishing, and knives. I haven't got a chance to go in a long time, but I really enjoy camping. When I lived in UT I would camp and hike every chance I got. Anything outdoors for me.

I enjoy outdoor activities- hiking, camping, hunting, kayaking. Really big into turkey hunting back before the kids. Still my favorite hunting, though. I've accumulated a small library of turkey hunting books, and have begun to add camping, backpacking, survival books as well. Last year I tried trapping, and got hooked on that. (Trying to help the turkey population out.) So looking forward to this winter and catching a few predators.

Ok... I play RPG games (AD&D mostly). I'm a geek who likes knives. Don't laugh though... that is how the Jedi got started ;)
