My question is two-fold; first, I've been training with the reverse grip type knife. I've got a REKAT Pocket Hobbit, but I'm looking for a Hobbit Warrior (FB). Are there any out there since REKAT is no longer producing? Second, since REKAT is out, are there any custom makers who make a similar type FB?

Thanks

Jensen Elite Blades out of Australia makes a similar (IMHO better looking) blade called the Eternal Warrior

Thanks RL...I missed out on REKAT's version, and they've dried up from most of the bigger sources. I was wondering if there were any custom makers who designed similar blade styles, thanks

keep your eye on the BF for sale boards, occasionally REKATS show up there. i dont know any dealer which still have hobbits, was looking for one myself a while back, never really found anything, but didnt look on eBay, give that a try i dont like fooling w/them though.

also look on the other knife forums for sale boards, and put up want to buy ads too.

hope this helps, good luck!!!

Wow! Not to interrupt a Hobbit post...but...has anyone actually got their hands on one of those Jensen 'Eternal Warrior's? The price isnt unreasonable and they look great.

I cant find the Eternal Warrior on the Jensen site. Do they still make this knife? Has anyone had any dealings with them before, good or bad? Thanks...

hey MT....this one is up from the depths!

JEB did have some family problems a while back (hope I can say that:( ) which caused some delays in delivery and communication etc. Everything seems to be fine now. I have 5 of Peters knives and the last 3 of those I recieved in half the quoted time. They are sweet!

I just recently ordered 4 more (approx 3 weeks ago) and got a pic on the email yesterday of them prior to heat treat (the teasing bastid!:grumpy: )

Cant wait to hold the Elite Combat I have on order....:D

I am pretty sure that the Warrior would still be available. Here is his email...

Greg Covington makes some excellent forged blades and has done a version of the Hobbit Warrior. I'm impressed enough that he will be doing a version of the Stealth Warrior (guardless, longer blade) for me. I recently scored the last of the Hobbits and a few of the Gaijan Warrior Prototypes (only 16 ever produced) from the folks at REKAT. :)

How about a non-metallic Warrior style knife designed for IWB carry?
Okay, yeah, I'm just showing off because I am proud of this one I made... hehe.

I love the warrior design, its the ultimate reverse grip knife IMO. Especially in the smaller size of the Hobbit Warrior... that makes it a lot better.

I wish I had gotten a REKAT when I had the chance.

Hey umm, can anyone tell me, what was the diff between the Hobbit W. and the Gaijan W.?

I really like that Jensen Elite Blades Warrior... I think I may have to give some thought to getting one, now that they seem to be back on their feet.
I also like Greg Covingtons big warrior types, but they are a little big, for me. He made a beautiful Warrior copy I saw posted about a year or so ago in the oold Battle Blades forum I think, I think it was perfect, seemed about the same size as the Hobbit, with the same handle, except out of roughened canvas micarta and steel, and a blackened or blasted finish. Perfection, totally. :)

The Hobbit Warrior has a 5" blade and is a downsized version of the original Al Mar Warrior. The Al Mar (7" blade) was a little overbuilt from original specs, so wound up being a little more heavy than need be. The Gaijan Warrior was to be the Warrior as originally envisioned, and is a lot lighter and faster. REKAT had planned to bring these out a couple years ago, but the handle molds for it and the Hobbit were lost, destroyed, whatever (never got the full story), so the only ones produced were the prototypes (13 black bladed, 3 olive drab) - I made the sheaths for all of them. There were also plans to produce a fixed blade the size of the Pocket Hobbit, called the Pygmy Warrior - 3 protos made - but unfortunately that won't happen now.
