I never had time to get away into the country to play today, so I decided to try some of my new toys out in the backyard. It's not bushcraft, but it still beats television, I suppose.

I've wanted to use my new hobo stove to cook on, so here it is.

My new Bushcraft second, after repair. Man I love this knife. It fits my hand like a $500 custom blade, and the cutting ability of this thing is a real confidence booster. It's my new favorite blade.

A little bit of fatwood dust, some feather sticks, and a touch of firesteel on the spine of the blade. Bingo, fire.

I decided to try out my new Starfrit One Egg Wonder pan. A cup of Bisquick, a 1/4 cup of milk, and a tsp of cooking oil for the pan, and I have a sort of bannock thing going.

10 minutes on one side, let's flip it and do the same on the other.

Mmm, that looks good enough to eat. Add some beef jerky I made, and my favorite beer. Hey, that's not a bad lunch.

I might as well test all the kit I built, and boil some water too.

Here are the mods on the frying pan. I drilled out the rivets and pressed in threaded rivets so I can remove the handle.

It all stows nicely.

Nice, I really like the nesting design you've incorporated into your stove.

I really like the clever features and workmanship on your stove kit.

The rivnut on the stove base and pan, and the very neat door, and the air intake vents...

To be honest, I like everything about it, the attention to detail (ie. door latch) is great.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the feedback guys. The big can is a 3 lb. coffee can, with a 2 lb. coffee can nested inside. The big can is about 6" diameter, and the smaller can and frying pan are about 5-5.5" diameter.

Do you have any pics of how you did the legs?

I have built a couple of hobo stoves. This one looks great.
