Took a flyer on ebay the other day. Just for fun after reading a little about Othello.
Anyone have any idea about when this one was made?
Not a big deal knife, just curious as to its age.
Sheath looks older than the logo on the blade? 50's, 60's, 70's?

The sheath is correct, the Germans still like to offer these older style sheathes even now. These are called "Black Forest Daggers / knives", "globe and claw knives/daggers", "ball and claw knives", etc.... depending on how was selling them at the time. Time frame is mid 50's - early 70's for the style, but a Hoffritz / Winger is probably early in that range. Usually knives co branded in that style are older, as they got plainer and cheaper as time went on.

The style is most associated with Thorsen's "Korium" brand, an early big importer of them made by Wingen, Schlieper(Eye Brand), and a few others -

Thanks for the info! I have also read these are of much better quality than the Korium version.
Set out looking for a better / best quality in a "Globe and Claw" handle knife.
Don't have it yet, am hoping its well made... LOL LOL
