My mother passed away recently, and while sorting through alot of her stuff I came across a Hoffritz folder. There is no model #, or any other identifiable marks on the knife. By looking at the knife, I'm assuming it's pretty old, and when I went to their site, all they had were kitchen cutlery. The knife is about 2 3/4" closed, and has a stained bone inlay on the handle with 3 brass bolsters holding it in place. The ends of the handle are capped with what seems to be silver on both sides, and it has two blades. One blade is long, and the other is half the size.If any one knows any info about this knife, or can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated. Thanks!!

i have a hoffritz folder myself, swiss type. hoffritz was making folders for quite a long time. i remeber seeing them for sale about 11 years ago or so. They were pretty well made and I havent seen any since. henckels knives are not on their website, but they do make them still. I would go to some of the european knife site you may find some. heres one to try knifeshop.de you may find one there, but I think you cant get them anymore, they are in about the same quality as the bokers, henckels, hubertus, eye brand, ect. folders.

akira,

Hoffritz was a knife retailer in New York. Because of the German origin of the family, they imported high quality cutlery from Solingen and sold a lot of it under their brand/name.
Around ten years ago they closed the stores and sold the rights on the brand to another dealer. That´s the reason why you didn´t find a comparable knife on the actual Hoffritz site.

Best would be to post a picture on B. Levine´s Knif Collecting Forum.
