Hello --

I have a SAK that looks, for all intents and purposes, like a Victorinox SAK, but it's marked "Hoffritz." The main blade is the only one with stamps. From the perspective of looking along the top of the main blade, the left side has "Hoffritz" in the same style as silver lettering on the handle, the right side says, in three lines:
"Switzerland, Stainless, and Rostfrei." Is this knife a Victorinox knock-off, or is there some relation between the two? What model would this be, if it were a Vic? I've forgotten when I bought it, but I'm thinking sometime in the eighties...would anyone know where I might find-out?

Looks like a Victorinox explorer. The plastic scales can easily be customized, so I think that is the case here.
The main blade stamp is correct as well.

Many companies buy SAKs a promotional items or as gifts for employees.

Hi,

There has been a long-term relationship between Hoffritz (a retailer) and Victorinox. The knife pictured is a Vic and is one of many found marked Hoffritz.

As the previous post said, lots of companies have their names marked in one way or another (inlays such as this, foil transfer or tampo printing) on both Vic and Wenger SAK's
