At what angle is the edge of the Heavy Ordinance Fusion Steel Heart ground at, and what is the best sharpening sytem to use? I'm thinking about getting a table top system for home, but I also would like recommendations about what to carry with the knife in the field. I'm a blade sharpening idiot, so any and all advice is much appreciated!

I would imagine crock sticks would work in the field. Someone with more experience will be along soon.

There are several threads on sharpening various blades. Do an advanced search on forum titles for SHARPENING and Sharpen. You should get several hits. They may not define a specific angle but there is some good info regardless.

I sharpen my HOFSH LE on some Arkansas stones, I do not know the exact angle. I gave my knife a normal V edge and it is wicked hair popping sharp - I would not have it any other way with any knife.

In the field I use ceramic rods from Spiderco. They do not take up much space in the back pack. I also use brass EZ-lap diamond sharpener if I do not bring the backpack.

Cheers,

André
