Hi,

I am planning modifications on some knifes of my humble collection. The HOFSH is the most valuable piece amongst the candidates and that's why I herewith ask for your feedback. Apart from the modifications visible in the drawing I also would like to apply a sabre grind similar to the HHFSH to reduce weight.

And now... shoot

While it may be smaller...have you thought about just looking for a a Marco Bolo prototype? :)

We jokingly named this killer cool design "Marco Bolo" because we were at a loss for a great name for this bad boy. . . .

This knife floats in your hand and will most assuredly become one of your favorite blades. . .

These Prototypes are the forefathers of a future Busse Combat model.

We did a short, custom run of these prototypes and handled 'em up for you in four different flavors.

That reminds me of the the Killa Zilla with no choil and the recurve. That would be very useful.

Keep in mind, you could just sell it as is and then buy an HHFSH to do the mods in the pic but I also understand why you would thin it down some. That is one heavy chunk of INFI the way it is now.

You could also sand down the handles just a bit more to fit your hand better if there is anything about the grip you don't like now. After all, if you are doing all of this other work, you might as well make it specifically for your pure enjoyment.

Sweet, Jaxx. I wasn't aware of those :o What is the blade length of the Marco Bolo PT? It could either be a substitute or "little brother that needs to be purchased" for my planned mods.

The one sitting next to me is 6-5/8" from tip to top of the micarta. Definitely smaller than a FSH, but still a great blade. :)

The Marco Bolo is essentially a flat ground SFNO variant so it will probably be around .22 thick with just a bit shorter blade than the SFNO. It still has a choil though where the drawing does not if that was an important feature. ;)

Well observed with the choil ;) Yes, and also the balde length of the Marco Bolo is too short to prevent me from transforming the HOFSH. But it would definitely be a nice addition to the collection after I'm done with the mods :D However, I rarely see them coming up on the x-change.
