Sorry for the bad pics, I'm a bad photographer with a bad camera, but I'm sure you get the gist.

Got a nice package today from Wauseon and redid the D-gaurd on my MOAB.

Seeing as what knife it's for, I thought the D-guard needed a little something extra.

Started off with one lone Hog.

Then added a buddy and a Rat and thought I was done until the Dog bead comes out.

But the Rat sticks out a little too much, plus, this blade is pure Busse and needs to be represented as such. I made the final payment on my TW (I know, I forgot :o ) so I kindly asked Lexi to throw in a couple of more Hog beads and she sold me on a lanyard.

Result:

Hmmm, now I have a lone Rat bead, a new lanyard and a new TW. Wonder what I'll do

+1 on the Rats...

How did you make that D guard? Do you know of any diagrams that show how to make one? Any help would be appreciated.

I always refer to this awesome post from KAAK whenever I make a guard: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...-D-Guard-Tutorial-14-BIG-pics?highlight=guard

Whichever thread you're going to use as your main middle thread, go ahead and put all the beads on it going the same way and slide them to the bottom. Then you can just slide one up while you're intertwining and go around it. I just eyeballed about where they should go, the spacing isn't military uniform perfect.

I did it for looks and just because I got the idea, but practically, I did swipe my knuckles on the tree, accidentally of course, with the beads on and off the guard. With the beads on, it didn't hurt at all, but it only happened that one time. I've hit my knuckles through the regular, non beaded guard a few times and most of the time it hurts.

Thanks for taking an interest, I wasn't sure if anyone really liked it, but then I remembered the only person I'm trying to please is the one currently using them ;)
