This one won't win any fit and finish awards :-) but should be a good functional user for the customer.

Thanks. No this is the Suminagashi from workshop heaven. It's actually not many layers. Only 11 on either side. I purchase the bar, forge it and ht it Japanese bladesmith style.
(Learning) Making my own Damascus is something on the list for later this year :-)

btw I met three Italian makers at the Solvang show all from the island of Sardinia!
Fogarizzu is from Pattada I think he said. Also Salvatore Puddu
apparently a rich history of knifemaking in Sardinia?

That's a very nice looking knife, looks like it performed very well on wild boars.
