hogsters have you seen the hog shot on a ranch in alabama?i think the 11 yr old should be an honery or honorary member??just a thought...

Heck no!!! He should'nt

Reported this morning that it was a domestic pet that had just been put in the big fence for them to hunt:thumbdn:

The wild ones down there don't get very big at all unless they cross bread with a domestic.

Now I read his name was " Fred", He was bought as a Christmas present at 6 weeks old.

They got rid of all there Hogs and had just sold him 4 days before he was shot. He did'nt last long in the big fence, what kind of hunting is that.

I have nothing against hunting, been Hog hunting myself a few times...but not in a big fence with old pet Hogs.

Apparently, the boy and his father did NOT know that the pig was raised in a pen. While it was "fenced in", it was a number of acres that were fence.

That place is just up the road from me. A 200 acre "short-fenced" hog preserve is part of a 2500 acre hunting plantation. The fellow who raised the hog sold him knowing he would be put down soon. You see, "Fred" wasn't cut and had become very aggressive. Read DANGEROUS! The ol' boy that owns the plantation has my luck and had dropped a big chunk of change. He just wanting a little publicity for his hunting lodge. It backfired when the story grew legs. :o

It really grew legs. Bad story all around
The could not even eat it...had to bury it in a HUGE hole

I heard the head was too big to mount...like as round as a tire

there are threads all over the place here. ive read several including some articles with quotes from the father. i didnt read anything that indicated the pig had become dangerous.

the previous owner said it was quite tame. however if unfed it could become irate.

kid was a crappy shot, as I said from the start. Even more so when it takes so many shots to kill a domesticated animal.

The staged pictures are ridiculous.

yup me too... the poor animal was a domestic creature which then got peppered with 8 shots over 3 hours....

... sorry, did I say peppered?? It was a .50 cal pistol... the poor thing was 'tortured' with 8 shots over 3 hours...

Sickening.... poor show all round
