Tell us a little about yourself. You seem to have some knowledge about BladeForums, and this sub-forum, yourself... but I see that you joined BF.com in Jan. '09, with a post count of 27... Been here before under a different identity?

this place was actually recomended as where all the big time Busse people were. At two different knife shows I had people tell me that this was THE place and had been for a long time. I dont usually do the internet much, but Its growing on me I guess. I just thought it sounded kinda funny. 2 of the 5 posters were 08 and newer. Ive actually heard of you though JAXX. Im going to blade east this year so Im sure Ill meet a bunch of the Busse folks.

I'm pretty sure that I've heard of you too. Have you been to Blade West?

No I have not and I have heard that if you are going to choose one, East should be it. I was in Las Vegas in January for the Ellett Bros distributor show for gun and knife and all around sporting goods show and heard some folks talking about Busse and this forum and the Busse Combat website. Ive been trying to buy some knives thru this place and have had alot of emails with ALL kinds of Busses for sale! I had thought it rather hard to find Busses but this place has loads of them for sale!!

You sure seem to know much about Busse Combat and the HOGs... Where did you pick up the knowledge if you haven't been around long, or spent much time on the 'Net?

Got any pix of your Busse collection to share with us? :)

My "collection" consists of 4 Busses and 1 Swamp Rat. Two of which are the release still available, the NMSFNO. I also have a Badger and a cuttellus. My sole rat is a blade that i am not sure of the name. It says Swamp Rat but does not have any other writing what so ever. I thought it was a Harry Carry but its quite different. I would love to take some pictures and put them up. How do you actually get the pictures up on the threads?

My question about porcupines joining was genuine as i was told that this was the place for Busse officianados and that all the old Busse Hoglets bought and sold here. But, it seems that more often than not the people that I see here are newly joined. This is different than what I was told to expect here. Also, what is the meaning of your #27? Is that your Busse member number?? I would have thought someone with a member number that low would have been around quite a bit longer. When did the membership start? Interested in chatting and hearing more and i will try and post more often as i take it the more you chime in the more you are welcomed. True? Must get to bed before my wife comes looking for me!

Pix? Try photobucket.com for free image hosting. As for the number... Well, I'm sure that you'll hear the story sooner or later. :D It ain't my member number, if it was, it would be more like 270,013 or something thereabouts. lolz

I poked my nose in the Reeves forum and got stuck over there for a few minutes. Great stuff! So there is a story to the 27??? I thought for sure it was a Busse member or hog number. There are that many Busse members, almost 300,000 or is that the forum you are refering too? There was actually a guy from another prominent knife company at the Vegas trade show that seemed to know a bunch about Busse. He "clued" me in to some of the ins and outs of the knives. He then swore me to secrecy as he did not want to lose his job at his knife company! It was pretty funny.

I Did not mean to seem like a know it all, AT ALL! I am amazed to see how many people here are "new" , when from what I understood that this place was full of "seasoned" Busse folks. I really like my Busses and I hope to increase the size of my"collection" in the near future. Hope to find out the #27 story one day as well. Good night all.

Welcome knockemoutdasky. I'm by no means any "old school hog", but if my patterns of usage here are any indicator, I'd say that there are more people on this forum than you necessarily hear from regularly. What I mean is I check in here everyday and read the threads, but aside from 2 other posts earlier this week I haven't contributed to hardly any threads in the last 6 months. I think you'd be surprised how many lurkers there are around here just like me. You don't tend to see many of the old hogs around until Jerry's about to fill the trough :D.

The best way to learn and make friends here is to do what you're doing. Ask questions and participate in discussions. This hogcult.com site is as good a resource as there seems to be out there for the past line-ups. I think robstar did a great job assembling all those details. There wasn't anything like that when I first came here; sure would have saved me some time and confusion if there was.

Have fun, bro.

Hey knock, take some time to introduce yourself, and hang around. The old Hogs are here, and like any good group of veterans, they attract alot of piglets as well. The numbers people collect don't correspond to how long they've been around. Some folks pick their birthday, or a number they like, or just got in the habit of collecting a certain number before they came over to Busse.
