Photo's only. Review to follow. I'll just say for now that this knife feels like a tank, and the build quality is awesome, especially considering that Hogue never produced a knife before.

I definitely like the overall looks of this folder. But the pocket clip seems like an afterthought. It doesn't follow the lines/design of the knife itself. Anyway it's not a big issue, might end up getting one...

In the 1st pic the blade has HTM on it. I wonder if that's the same company that's making Darrel Ralph's mid-techs? They're the same company logo (all upper case for DR folders like the Gunhammer, Madd Maxx etc.)

[the pocket clip is like allen ellishewitz customs the designer, I own this knife a well and it is in my opinion one of the best quality production folders I have seen, tge fit and finish is amazing on this knife

You mean this one:

No idea what it means, and there's a different one on the clip:

Another mystery. ;)

I don't think its for the company Htm I think its just saying the knife is hand tech made

I agree - HTM is Darrel's manufacturer, while this is more of an indicator of "Hand Tech Made" - but that's what Darrel's company means? I think I'm getting dizzy....  :D

Another mystery. ;)

There are other knives I have yearned for longer... I must resist the urge to get one of these...

Great looking knife ! Thanks for taking the time to share.

I've been carrying a 3.5 inch aluminium tanto version of this knife for about a month now, and it's quickly become one of my favorite knives of all time, and without a doubt, an amazing value. There aren't many Benchmades or Spydercos I'd rather have.

With the EX01 you have the:
handle like an Emerson,
opening smoothness and lock-up of a Sebenza,
ease of use and speed of a Benchmade Axis.

It's not a thin full flat grind, so if that's what you like, this probably isn't for you. -I've yet to see a regrind done to one of these but it would be sweet.

I will say that I managed to dent the aluminium by hammering a couple plastic push pins. -Not a great idea on my part, I know. I'm not sure if this aluminium is softer than others, I know aluminum is soft in general, but I definately recommend against using it as a hammer. The pocket-clip is very wide, but this can be fixed on a grinder.

The saftey is a nice feature in my opinion. If you don't like it, you can tighten it down and not worry about it. Also, I'm not sure if it's common knowledge, but while the blade is closed you can push the safety up to a half-cocked type possition; then when you open the knife it activates. -Of course, this wont work if you tighen it down. (I've got mine tight, but still usable manually with effort).

I took mine apart and lost a small spring located beneath the saftey button (it's very, very small), and Hogue fixed it happily and promptly. The knife came back smoother than I sent it too. It has zero felt blade-play, but if you push the lock in the blade swings totally free. I hope to try a g10 4 inch drop-point soon and expect it to be a very near to perfect knife for me.

**Update**
Just wanted to add a smal update without bumping the thread. I have done some rude lock testing with my Hogue resently and it's held up very well. I've spine-whacked it on the back of a steel folding chair and done a few heavy stabs into solid wood. The lock held and the knife is unchanged. -No play, centered blade, super smooth opening. The grip, as expected is secure. Great knife.

Yeah, this exact knife has been at the top of my to-buy list for awhile. I've had several chances to handle several size and blade and handle styles, and I'm gravitating towards the 4" g10 drop point too. The knife opens and closes like buttered glass, locks up without a hint of movement in any direction, balances like an old Endura, and swings open and shut like a Benchmade Axis knife. No idea yet how it wears in under use, obviously, but my first impressions are endlessly positive!

Hogue puts that on all their products. I'm pretty sure it stands for "Hogue Machine Tool". I recently ordered and received a set of Extreme G-10 grips in their Piranha pattern for my Sig P220. The circle HtM was machined on the inside of both grips.
