In the time that I have been here, I have bought and sold many a Busse knife. Many of them have been ones you would be lucky to find available anywhere these days. Typically, if something appeals to me in pictures, I will try to pick it up and then I will wait to see what my impressions are when the knife is in front of me, and if it "grows" on me over time. If it does, then she's a keeper; if not, it's off to the auction block.
That is what I did many moons ago with a HHFSH with standard slabs. Unfortunately, while a very nice and capable knife, I just never grew to love it. Something about the way it felt in hand, aesthetics, etc.--I don't really know. I just know that I wasn't giving it the love that someone else could. As a result, I ended up selling it and resigning myself to the notion that the FSH line was just not my cup of...ummm...single malt scotch!
Anyway, then I had a chance to pick up the rig below, a HOGFSH with mags and a beautiful Chuddy Bear sheath. "What the heck," I thought. It can't hurt to try her out. Well, all I can say is that I feel like I finally struck gold in the FSH line. What an incredibly kick-butt knife!!!
I know that there have been some HOGFSHs offered up lately here in the Exchange. Sure, an FSH SE might be nice, or maybe something else that was recently offered by the BCS. Well, if you're looking for something incredible, something no longer offered at the BCS, and something that will most assuredly make an incredible user while becoming even harder to get than they already are, then you know what to do. That's right--go get a HOGFSH. You definitely WON'T regret it!
Oh, and those Chuddy Bear sheaths are pretty sweet too!:thumbup:
