Kim was quite a poet before her accident. She did lots of free verse.
She has taken up poetry again, but it now is all upbeat and optimistic, whereas while she was a healthy 21 year old who could walk and talk she did dark, depressing stuff. There must be a lesson there somewhere.

I found this one today just lying around, and was impressed by it. She is rather creative in her spelling, but I have left the spelling as she did it while translating where needed. Not bad for someone who was always going to be a vegetable.

MUTARADARY (I think this title is a combining of Mutual and Comradery)

friendship is
mutual comradary
open hands
open heart
ready to attack
the troublesome
inuendoes
with the strength
heaven sent
ready
to
throw
down
for
triumph

I am not sure if I understand what she is trying to get at, but it sounds "deep". Their is deffinitely a meaning behind the words but I am not sure what to make of them. I am a big fan of this knid of thing. The concept of abstract imagery has always fascinated me. Mainly because so many people can get so many different meanings out of a simple few words. That is an excelent poem. It is the kind of thing that you forget about but it comes back to you later when your mind wonders.

Deep Kim.

That says it all kiddo.

Don't think anyone has ever said it better, or simpler.

Lucky are those who know that comfort, great things to come for those yet to know.

See you soon kiddo.

I think the lesson is perspective. The world can look pretty grim just drifting. Then you dig a little deeper and see how much worse it could be.

Good stuff, Kim. Keep 'em coming!

I like it! Mike, the stuff I wrote in those formative years was dark as a pit too. It is a kid thing. Your little girl has grown up and seen the world through much different eyes. They see beautiful things don't they?

MUTARADARY

AWESOME!!!!!! Absolutely AWESOME!!!! That is an excellent poem. . .

That a girl Kim!!!!! :D

The use of the contemporary phrase "throw down for triumph" meaning to fight or go to war in order to win, is really great!!

Kim continues to be an amazing inspiration for everyone whose life she touches.

Keep on writing Kim. . . you have so much to give!!! . . . hmmm. . . . do I sense a book in the making here????

I hate to sound like a butt kisser jumping on a band wagon, but I think that particular line is very powerful as well.

May I ask who Kim is? I appologize but I am new to this forum and do not understand who we are all taking about.

Here is a link to one thread. Set this forum to display all the posts from the beginning and then to do a search on "kim". There are about a dozen or so threads that kind of trace her progress too.

She is a very special young lady. An inspiration to be sure.

Thank you Progunner for the information. Her story is truly a sentement to the strength of the human spirit. Again, thanks

Peter, agreed, and soooo much more.

She is an example and inspiration for all, and that is definitely an understatement.
